EV Journal Archiving Queues

Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

Hi

I'm trying to get my head around he journal archiving process, the queues involved and the limitations that may exist.

Here's my understanding so far from what I've googled on the web  - please correct me if I'm going wrong.

·         Each Journal task with create 4 message Queues J1, J2, J3 ,J4

  • The queues are processed in order of priority J1 (highest priority) to J4 (lowest priority)
  • A message will be added to J1 to tell the journaling task there are items in the mailbox to be updated\deleted or there are ‘failed operations’
  • Question – Is there a message added to this queue for each and every item that needs updated (eg 500 messages) or just 1 message telling the task there are ‘500 items that need to be updated’?
  • Until this queue is empty the task will not move onto J2
  • A message is put into J2 to tell the task there are items to be processed
  • Question - What\Where are these items are they messages from the journal mailbox?
  • A message goes into J3 to tell the task to examine the journal mailbox for new messages. Up to 500 messages will be changed to pending archive and moved to J2
  • Question – Is this where J2 gets it’s messages from?
  • Question – Is this the actual message itself or does that go to the storage archive queue?
  • Question – is the 500 a hard limit or can it be increased
  • Question - The process mailbox message is issued every minute onto queue J3 – can this be decreased?
  • J4 is for synchronisation messages for resynchronising mailboxes etc – a low priority task

More questions :o)

So the above for queues are created for each journaling task and each journaling task can only journal from one journal mailbox?

A journal mailbox can only be processed by a single journaling task?

If the J3 queue can collect a maximum of 500 messages at a time and is only run every 60 seconds the most messages a task can process is 500 messages a minute?

Does the message size affect how many messages the j3 task can change to pending archive in one minute? – will it be less that 500 if average message size is 300Kb

Do the actual messages themselves get put into the J2 queue or the Storage Archive queue?

Hope someone can answer my questions

Thanks in advance

KL
