Max number of shared archives per EV server

Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

Hi

I wish to create a large number of shared archives for legacy data that needs to be imported into EV - these are old PSTs that out customer has which do not need to appear in the users mailboxes but do need to be searchable within EV by DA (not the user). So I had the idea of creating a shared archive per user and importing the PSTs into there. So I have a few questions about this concept.

.... and just to add that I know there are tools that could achieve this, but first need to understand the restrictions (if any) of EV with the following questions

1) I have 6000 enabled users and most will have a need for a 'shared' archive so totalling up to 12,000 archives on a single EV server - as half of these are 'inactive' and just hold legacy data, will there be much performance impact caused by these archives? (assuming that e-discovery requirements are very small)

2) Some of the emails within the PST's I need to imprt will have messages with attachments -  I may have read somewhere that attachments aren't indexed when items are imported\archived into a shared archive - can anyone confirm\deny this?

3) I have some legacy jourmal PST's that (I believe) had envelope journaling enabled - assuming that no envelope reconstruction was completed what would my options be here to get this data indexed and imported - especially if (2) turns out to be correct....

apologies but migration isn't really my bag as I'd tend to recommned a 3rd party tool, but in this instance that's not possible.... :o(

kind regards

KL
