We have Symantec Enterprise Vault for email archiving. We also have Exchange 2013 , Windows 2012R2 servers. Users are emailing with MS Outlook 2010 and have the EV plugin.
Here's the issue. We have 2 types of emails governed by retention policies. One is for 6 years and the other is for 4 years. A user can have both types of emails saved in their Outlook.
Our problem is not with the 6year retention policy emails.. Those are already being routinely archives automatically from the Inbox of the user mailboxes. However, we can not allow the 4 year emails to be archived along with the 6 year archived emails. How can we setup EV so that it can archive routinely both types of emails without manual intervention?
Currently, when a user terminates, we disable the mailbox and go thru a process to create a master folder in each users mailbox called EVArchive. Then, for any subfolders under Inbox, Sent, Deleted and Draft we have to manually create these same folders under the EVArchive and manually "move" those emails to their appropriate EVArchive folders (ie. Deleted emails are moved to the EVArchive\Deleted folders). This is very time consuming. There must be a method in EV to handle this automatically.
