EV 10.0.4 - Mapi profiles build up

Hello Guys, 

I hope you can me help with a problem. 

We sometimes get a huge mapi profiles build up. From one day to the next they build up from about 20 to 10000 and much more. The last time we got nearly 90000 Profiles. 

HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Agents\ProfileExpire was at 3 and we changed it to 1 but the problem still exists. We are not able to reset all the profiles by using the value 0. We had to delete them manually and after an restart of the services everything works like it should. 

Has anyone every had a problem like this or do you know how to track that issue?
