Hello all,
I'm running a 'move archive' project, moving many archves (big and small) from one EV-site to another. These sites are in the same AD-domain, but in a different EV-site (seperate EV-server/SQL/Exchange).
I'm currently moving archives of 'leavers', no issues there. The mailboxes from this source site (A) will be moved to the target-site (B) in a few weeks. When these mailboxes have a new archive, I'll start moving the archives from A to B. This way, shortcuts will get updated etc. I do realize this will take longer compared to using 3rd party tooling. We've tested a few mailboxes like this, and with setting the value "Web Application URL" not yet converted shortcuts remain functional.
The plan is to decommission the Exchange servers in site A as soon as all mailboxes have been moved.
Is the Exchange server in site A required to be available to have Move Archive run? I do not think so (as I'm not doing any actions on the Exchange server in A), but I am not sure on this. Anyone by any chance performed a similar action?
Thanks.
Gertjan
