Provisioning via ldap query

Hello,

Till now I was using groups as target for my provisioning groups but I had to realize those groups are not always up to date so I thought at using ldap query.

Is there a way to test that my query really works and returns the values I want to get ?

I want to reach all the users starting wit lets say "entity1-"  :  (&(objectClass=user)(sAMAccountName=entity1-*))

Thank you for any hint on how to test the returned result

We use EV9.2 with Exchange 2010
