Hi
So another left field question :o)
Does the SMTP archiving component work independently of EV.....?
Basically - if I have an SMTP server that is recieving messages I understand that these messages go into an SMTP drop folder where the archiving component 'grabs' the message, processes it ready for archiving and stores it in an SMTP holding folder ready to be archived by the FSA component on an EV server which index and archives the message.
OK - so suppose I just wanted to stop at the point where the SMTP archiving component had done it's bit - processed the eml file and moved it into a folder structure based on domain\user\date\hour etc....... and I wanted to stop here. I don't want to index or archive the files with EV FSA but just keep them in their native format on the SMTP but in a structured folder layout.
What would I need to be able to do this from en EV infrastructure perspective - what tasks and services would need to be running where?
hope that makes sense
thanks as always
